Public Open House

The City of Maquoketa will hold a public open house meeting to discuss the update to the Maquoketa Comprehensive Plan from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Maquoketa Art Experience, 124 S. Main Street, Maquoketa.  All members of the community are encouraged to attend.

The purpose of the meeting is to give the community an opportunity to provide their ideas for the future of Maquoketa and to learn about the work that the City is doing to update to update the plan.  Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee members will be at the meeting to talk with people about the plan and the future of the community.

The comprehensive plan is an important guide that is used by city leaders.  The plan presents a vision for the future, with long-range goals and objectives for all activities that affect growth and development of the community.  Maquoketa completed its last full comprehensive plan update in 1981.

The City of Maquoketa is working with the East Central Intergovernmental Association (ECIA) to update the plan.  ECIA is a voluntary association of local governments that works to empower eastern Iowa communities and enhance the quality of life in Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Dubuque, and Jackson Counties.
